Woman in critical condition after vehicle struck her on Rockville Pike
Incident briefly closed road in North Bethesda Tuesday afternoon

A female pedestrian was transported in critical condition Tuesday to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda after she was struck by a vehicle in North Bethesda, according to social media posts from Montgomery County police and radio transmissions from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews.
Police said at roughly 11 a.m. Tuesday that officers and MCFRS crews were on scene of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Tuckerman Lane and Rockville Pike. A woman suffered a head injury, police said, and the driver of the vehicle that hit her remained at the scene. No information about how the collision occurred was provided.
After the collision, southbound Rockville Pike was closed at Tuckerman Lane. Police said on social media Tuesday that Rockville Pike reopened at roughly 12:30 p.m.
According to MCFRS radio transmissions with Suburban Hospital, the woman was hit by a box truck and had leg and head injuries. She was considered a priority 1 patient, which is defined as a critically ill or injured person requiring immediate attention or an unstable patient with life-threatening injury or illness
