Here are all of the openings and closings you need to know, as well as information about parking restrictions and public transportation:  

What’s closed on Friday 

• County, cities of Rockville and Gaithersburg  

• MC 311  

• State offices and courts  

• State Motor Vehicle Administration offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations  

• Libraries  

• County Department of Permitting Services  

• Recreation Administrative Office (Customer Service)  

• County senior and recreation centers  

• Rockville Senior Center 

• Brookside Gardens Nature Center 

• Locust Grove Nature Center 

What’s open on Friday 

• Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS): Open regular hours on Friday 

• Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center: open regular hours 

• County Outdoor Pools— Open from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 3 – 6 p.m. 

• Rockville Swim and Fitness Center  

• F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and box office: open regular hours (2-7 p.m.) 

• Josiah Henson Museum and Park: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

• Cabin John Ice Rink 

• Wheaton Ice Arena  

• Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,  

• Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center, Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

• Wheaton Indoor Tennis, Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

• Open parkways (from 9 a.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Sunday)  

• Beach Drive between Knowles Avenue and Cedar Lane;   

• Sligo Creek Parkway between Old Carroll Avenue and Piney Branch Road; and  

• Sligo Creek Parkway between Forest Glen Road and University Boulevard West.  

• Brookside Gardens  

• Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

• Conservatory is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

• The Butterfly Experience is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Timed tickets required.) 

City of Gaithersburg: 

• The Gaithersburg Water Park is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

• The Community Museum & Interactive Water Feature in Olde Towne Plaza will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

• The Miniature Golf Course is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

• The Skate Park is open from 3 p.m. to sunset. 

• The Aquatic Center is open from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m.
