Rider dies after two motorcycles collide in Rockville
Motorcyclists lost control upon making contact while traveling together, police say

A man died after his motorcycle and another motorcycle he was traveling with collided early Sunday on Norbeck Road in Rockville, Montgomery County police said Sunday in a press release.
MCPD and @mcfrs dispatched at approximately 1:16 a.m., to the area of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way for a fatal collision involving two motorcycles.

Police did not identify the man or provide his age but said that he was riding a Honda motorcycle, according to the release.
The collision occurred just after 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way in Rockville, according to police. County police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews were dispatched to the intersection following a report of a collision involving two motorcycles.
First responders found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The rider of the second motorcycle, also a Honda, was not injured in the collision and remained at the scene, according to police.
A preliminary investigation found the two motorcyclists were traveling westbound on Norbeck Road at the time of the collision. The motorcycles made contact, causing the riders to lose control near the road’s intersection with Hannans Way, the release said.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the fatal collision. More information about the collision, including the identity of the motorcyclist who died, will be released after the proper notification of the next of kin.
