Montgomery County police on Monday identified the cyclist who died after he was struck by a car in Silver Spring’s White Oak neighborhood the evening of June 16.
Around 9:40 p.m. that day, according to police, a white Lexus was heading north on the ramp connecting Columbia Pike to New Hampshire Avenue when it collided with a bicycle.
The cyclist, 45-year-old Minh Q. Vu of Silver Spring, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died the morning of June 17 from those injuries, police said in a Monday press release.
Police have not identified the driver of the Lexus, who initially left the scene of the collision but returned “a short time later,” according to Monday’s release.
