A week-long search for a father and daughter wanted in connection with a June 4 stabbing in Silver Spring ended Thursday in Rockville, according to a Friday morning news release from the Montgomery County police.

William Andrew Dunn, 54, and Brittany Elaine Dunn, 24, both of Silver Spring, were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in the 14900 block of Broschart Road in Rockville, police said in the release.

The arrests stem from a stabbing that occurred June 4 in the 3700 block of Stepping Stone Lane in Silver Spring.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) radio transmissions, first responders were dispatched to the area shortly after 5 p.m. for the report of a stabbing. In a radio transmission to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, a MCFRS crew member said that they were transporting a 67-year-old man who said he had been attacked and choked from behind and then stabbed with a knife. The man suffered a stab wound to the top part of the sternum, according to the radio transmission, and blood was on the knife up to about three inches.

Police said in the news release Friday that the victim shared a residence with William and Brittany Dunn, but would not tell Bethesda Today if the person was related to the Dunns, what led to the stabbing nor the victim’s present condition.

Following their arrests, William and Brittany Dunn were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and related offenses, police said.

A bond hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon in Montgomery County District Court, according to court records. The records indicate both defendants qualify for representation by the public defender’s office, though attorney information was not immediately available.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
