Party would be ‘thrilled’ if GCAAR canvassed as it did for Democratic candidates

I read the June 3 Political Notes story by Ceoli Jacoby and Louis Peck about the Democratic Central Committee objecting to the Realtors at Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors announcing which Montgomery County Democrats to vote for in Tuesday’s primary election, and how objectionable the Democrat leadership found it. It made me smile.

Now let me say clearly — as both the chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee and the former president of the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors (GCAAR), I’d be thrilled if they sent out a team of well-dressed canvassers, a press release, a mailing, a weather balloon, a TV ad, or even a TikTok video telling which Montgomery County Republicans to vote for. Wouldn’t embarrass us at all.

That’s not only their right but their duty and I’m all for it — don’t ask permission. What’s the old Nike ad? Just do it.

We have great candidates, we have a great team and come November, we’ll finally have a place at the table. I know it.
