A man was fatally shot Thursday morning near the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, Montgomery County police said in a social media post.
UPDATE: The shooting in the 5700 block of Marinelli Road is now being investigated as a homicide.

At approximately 11:37 a.m., police and Montgomery County Fire and Service Services (MCFRS) crews were dispatched to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for a report of a shooting.
According to MCFRS radio transmissions, police had secured the scene at approximately 11:45 a.m. and asked MCFRS crews to meet them at the main entrance to the hotel.
As of noon, police said on social media that the shooting was being investigated as a homicide. Information about a suspect was not available.
