A man died Monday morning from injuries he suffered from a single-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon in Derwood, Montgomery County police said Monday in a statement.
Police are investigating the collision, which occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Crabbs Branch Way and Moccasin Lane.
When officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews arrived, the driver was located and transported to an area hospital. He died Monday morning, according to the statement. The man’s identity was not released.
According to the statement, a preliminary investigation found that a Toyota had been traveling south on Crabbs Branch Way when it left a roadway and struck a tree. The reasons for the vehicle leaving the roadway are still under investigation, police said.
