A man who is accused of killing his girlfriend in a Columbia, Maryland, home was arrested over the weekend in Texas, according to law enforcement officials. Darwin Carcamo-Santiago, 24, is charged with first-and-second-degree murder in the killing of Esmeralda Perez-Mendez, 35, of Takoma Park. [WBFF]

MCDOT adds Glenmont shuttle amid Metro Red Line closure

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is operating a temporary shuttle between the Metro stations in Glenmont and Shady Grove and the Milestone Park & Ride Lot in Germantown while a portion of the Red Line is shut down for construction. The shuttle is in addition to existing Ride On route options, including Route 37 from Wheaton to Grosvenor and Route 40 from Wheaton to Rockville. [Source of the Spring]
