Man, 20, held without bond on charges of stalking, burglary, indecent exposure after incident in Silver Spring

Police say there may be additional victims, ask witnesses to come forward

A 20-year-old man from Prince George’s County is being held without bond in Montgomery County jail for allegedly stalking a woman in a Silver Spring shopping center in early July and then attempting to break into her home, according to a Wednesday statement from Montgomery County police and online court records.

According to police, the stalking incident began on July 10 at Kohl’s in the Orchard Center shopping mall at 12024 Cherry Hill Road. A woman shopping at the store noticed a man began stalking her and was “engaged in an act of indecent exposure,” police said. Police did not provide details about the act of indecent exposure.

Later, the man followed the woman through the shopping center’s parking lot while driving in his car and continued to follow her to her home, according to police. At the woman’s house, the man tried to enter through a window, but a family member confronted him, and he fled, police said.

Following an investigation, county police identified Adrean Walls, 20, of Bowie, as the suspect, the statement said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Walls on July 16, according to online court records, charging him with stalking, attempted 4th degree burglary and indecent exposure.

Police arrested Walls on Tuesday, according to the statement. Later, Walls was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit in Rockville.

According to online court records, Walls is being represented by a public defender in the case. At a bond hearing held at the Montgomery County District Court in Rockville on Tuesday afternoon, a judge ordered Walls to be held without bond.

A trial date for Walls is scheduled for Sept. 3, according to online court records.

County police said Wednesday in the press release that they believe other people may have encountered Walls while at the shopping center on July 10.
