    Voting rights act championed by county Del. Wims signed by Gov. Moore

    Gov. Wes Moore signed the Voting Rights Act of 2026 on Tuesday, a bill championed by Delegate Greg Wims, who represents the Germantown, Montgomery Village and Clarksburg areas. The bill “removes barriers to the ballot box by prohibiting any method of electing a county or municipal governing body that creates polarized voting or dilutes the votes of a protected class.” [Montgomery County Media]

    Montgomery Blair robotics team heads to championship

    A robotics team for Montgomery Blair High School will compete for a world championship for the second consecutive time this week. The team had to reengineer its robot several times in order to win. [Source of the Spring]
