Bethesda resident David Hearn, a former Olympian, is facing a charge of destruction of government property after U.S Park Police arrested him Friday for allegedly removing a chunk of peeling blue paint from the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. Hearn denies that he removed the paint strip. [The Washington Post]
Fani-González protest leads MoCo sheriff to denounce suspect’s transfer to ICE
Council President Natali Fani-González callled out Montgomery County Sheriff Maxwell Uy for failing to comply with the Maryland Community Trust Act by allowing Thursday’s transfer of a suspect in custody to federal immigration authorities. Uy, who is running for re-election, then released a statement Saturday condemning the transfer. [DC News Now]
Germantown Emergency Center prepares to close July 1

In less than two weeks, Adventist HealthCare will close its Germantown Emergency Center on July 1 at midnight. Adults and children who need emergency services can go to Adventist HealthCare’s Rockville location after the closure. [WUSA9]
