DC Water, the sewage and water treatment agency for Washington D.C. and parts of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland, will replace its CEO following the leak that sent thousands of gallons of sewage into the Potomac River earlier this year. The agency’s Board of Directors confirmed the current CEO’s departure, but did not say whether he resigned or was terminated. [WJLA]
Rockville space technology startup plans to go public
Quantum Space LLC, a Rockville space technology startup that has already won key contracts with U.S. Department of Defense agencies, plans to go public through a merger later this year. The company’s founder and executive chairman is local entrepreneur Kam Ghaffarian, who also founded Rockville nuclear reactor developer X-Energy. [Washington Business Journal]
Purple Line construction shuts down Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring
Overnight construction on the light-rail Purple Line is shutting down Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. for more than a week. The street closures began Sunday night and will run through June 16. Ride On bus routes 12, 13, 15, and 19 are affected by the closures. [Source of the Spring]
