    MoCo fire department surpasses overtime budget for 12th consecutive year

    Since 2014, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service has exceeded its overtime budget each fiscal year for 12 years. In fiscal year 2025, the department overspent its overtime budget by $15.1 million. That number is expected to be $11.7 million for fiscal year 2026. [The Banner]

    Montgomery County pools open for the summer this Saturday

    On Saturday, Montgomery County’s seven swimming pools will open up for the summer season. On Memorial Day, pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. [Montgomery Community Media]
