The Tidal Basin isn’t the only place to see cherry blossoms in the Washington, D.C., area. With peak bloom predicted for this weekend, check out these Montgomery County spots to enjoy the beauty of the pink and white petals.

    The Kenwood neighborhood, Bethesda

Kennedy Drive, Dorset Avenue and Kenwood Avenue, Bethesda

This community has around 1,200 cherry trees that can attract thousands of viewers. Though all are welcome to view the petals for free, the neighborhood doesn’t allow parking in many spots to keep traffic moving.

    Rock Creek Woods, Kensington

This Kensington neighborhood has dozens of Yoshino cherry trees that were planted in place of shade trees. The neighborhood has had cherry trees since its inception in 1959, when residents requested them from the county.

    Historic Takoma Park

    Flower and Boyd avenues

Find cherry trees throughout the town, with the most along Flower Avenue between Jackson and Garland avenues as well as Boyd Avenue between Jackson and Lincoln avenues.

    Glenview Mansion, Rockville

    603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville

Glenview Mansion at Rockville’s Civic Center Park is home to Kwanzan and Yoshino cherry trees. Picnics and walks through the grounds are allowed. Visits are free and there is parking. The grounds will be closed Saturday, Sunday and April 8 for private events.
