6 injured in collision involving Ride On bus, dump truck in Silver Spring

Six people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries following a collision involving a Ride On bus and a dump truck Tuesday morning in Silver Spring, Montgomery County police said on social media.  

According to police, officers were dispatched at roughly 7:20 a.m. to a collision involving the bus on New Hampshire Avenue. The collision also involved a dump truck, police said Tuesday morning in an email to Bethesda Today.  

All six occupants of the bus, including the driver, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said. Police did not say whether or not the driver of the dump truck was injured.

As of roughly 9:30 a.m., New Hampshire Avenue at Mahan Road was closed while police investigated the crash. Police advised drivers to find alternate routes and expect delays due to the closure.
