    Police awarded federal funds to reduce backlog of DNA cases

    The Montgomery County Police Crime Laboratory was given $119,000 to outsource 15 DNA cases to an accredited facility to reduce a backlog of DNA related cases. The funding was part of $1.3 million the state of Maryland received to address the issue. [Montgomery County Media]
