When it comes to things to do each week, there’s no place quite like Montgomery County. The region is a hub for activities of all sorts, from art exhibits and theater to craft fairs, food festivals and inventive workshops. Yet with all the happenings across the area, it can be a challenge to figure out exactly which things to do. To get started, below are our top picks for the week, and here is an events calendar for things to do in May and June.
Wednesday: 18th Annual Rockville Ride of Silence
6:40 – 8:10 p.m.
21 Maryland Ave., Rockville

Rockville Bicycle Advisory Committee is hosting its annual Ride of Silence starting in front of the Rockville Memorial Library, with riders gathering by 6:40 p.m. for a 7 p.m. departure. The 9-mile, police-escorted ride honors cyclists who have been killed or injured and requires helmets, a 10-mph pace, and experience riding in traffic, as it will take place on public streets including Rockville Pike. Riders should be prepared in advance with a well-maintained bike and safety gear. The event will proceed rain or shine.

Montgomery Parks’ Acoustics and Ales series returns to Flower Avenue Urban Park on Thursday with a free Americana/blues music performance by Ted Garber; food from Catalyst Hot Dogs, La Casita Pupuseria and Churros Inc.; and craft beer from Denizens Brewing Co. and Silver Branch Brewing Company.
Thursday-Monday: Red Hot Blues & BBQ 2026

Glen Echo Park, 7300 Macarthur Blvd, Glen Echo
A barbeque-themed blues dance weekend features live music from Robert Lighthouse, Clarence “The Blues Man” Turner, Nella B & the Noise, plus DJs and dancing. Pay-what-you-can weekend passes include dances and picnics, with additional tickets available at the door and cookout-style food options.

Friday: Bethesda Summer Concert Series
6 – 8 p.m.
Woodmont Triangle, 7900 Norfolk Ave. Bethesda
DOGO tu Togo & The Alagaa Beat Band will perform as part of Bethesda Urban Partnership’s free summer concert series.
Saturday: Flags For Our Heroes
11 a.m.
Bohrer Park, 512 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg
A display of 756 American flags honoring military members and other local heroes will return to Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg over Memorial Day weekend with an opening celebration on Saturday. The annual “Flags For Our Heroes” event will include patriotic ceremonies, a peace pole gathering and a Scout-led flag retirement ceremony Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: Hometown Holidays
Noon – 6 p.m.
Rockville Town Center
Rockville’s annual Hometown Holidays festival returns to Town Center with live music, local food and drinks, family-friendly activities, and community outreach booths. The event features performances for all ages, plus crafts, games and opportunities to connect with local organizations and city services.
Saturday: 2nd annual Saint Owen’s Feast
Noon – 6 p.m.
Owen’s Tavern & Garden Patio, 11820 Trade St., North Bethesda
Owen’s Tavern & Garden Patio is celebrating its seasonal relaunch on Saturday with Saint Owen’s Feast, an Italian-style street festival featuring food, drinks, live music and family-friendly activities. The free event also includes games, a face painter, and a raffle supporting the Manna Food Center.

Bethesda Theater, 7719 Wisconsin Avenue
American jazz singer Maysa, known for her smooth-jazz and adult urban vocals, will perform at Bethesda Theater. Tickets cost $75.
11 a.m. — 7 p.m.
Honey Acre Farm, 16915 Darnestown Road, Boyds
Farm Fest is a free family-friendly, all-day festival at Honey Acres featuring live music, local art, educational booths and activities that let visitors explore the farm.
Sunday: Invent the Future Expo
10 a.m. — 3 p.m.
KID Museum, 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 140, Bethesda
KID Museum in Bethesda will host its Invent the Future Expo on Sunday, where more than 650 middle school students will present inventions and research projects focused on improving life on Earth. The free event also includes interactive exhibits, hands-on maker activities, and awards recognizing student work in areas like sustainability, robotics, and engineering.
Through Sunday: I & You: The Musical
1:30 p.m.
Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney Sandy Spring Rd.
Based on the play by Lauren Gunderson, the world premiere musical finishes its run on Sunday at Olney Theatre Center. The story follows two high school students who bond over a Walt Whitman assignment and uncover a mystery that connects them. Tickets run from $42 to $103.
Through Sunday: Aesop’s Fables
2 p.m.
Adventure Theatre MTC Academy, 7300 Macarthur Blvd.
In this adaptation that runs through Sunday, a group of traveling storytellers recounts five classic fables. The show is recommended for children age 3 and older. Tickets are $26.
Monday: Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade
10:30 a.m.
Parade Begins at North Washington Street and Martins Lane and travels through downtown Rockville
Rockville honors fallen military members with a ceremony, musical tribute and parade through downtown Rockville. This year’s free event also celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with roving entertainment and patriotic giveaways
